Author/Opus: This is the 155th puzzle from our contributing puzzlemaster Serkan Yürekli.
Rules: Variation of Battleships and Yajilin. Place the fleet of ships in the grid so that no ships touch each other, even diagonally. The grid contains internal clues (a number and an arrow) that show how many ship segments are in the indicated direction. All remaining white cells that do not contain a ship segment must be able to form a single loop, as in a Yajilin puzzle.
Answer String: Enter the length in cells of the horizontal loop segments from left to right in the marked rows, starting at the top. If the loop only has vertical segments in the marked row, enter 0. Separate each row’s entry with a comma.

Is it possible that this puzzle has no solution? I have been at it for 3 hours and I reach contradictions every time. Basically, I will end up needing ship segments that I don’t have. And I cannot place the 4 square ship anywhere, without violating Yajilin rules.
There is a unique solution. Without seeing your partial progress, it is hard to know what challenge you are running into but we’d be happy to help.

Thanks Tom. I actually figured it out without using your hint. I guess I just needed a sanity check. I was hindering myself by insisting on a specific rotation for the 4 block ship. But when I tried of the reverse rotation for the 4 block ship, everything became clear.
