Schedule for Next Week
For the next two weeks we’ll be posting some of our favorite puzzles from the Competitive Section (PDF) of the US Puzzle Grand Prix. If you missed it, we also highly recommend the Casual section (PDF) with a special “Escape the Grand Prix” theme. We’ll be back with original puzzles on June 6.
This week we’ll present two variation sections: Pentominous (Borders) from Grant Fikes (Mon-Wed) and Nanro (Signpost) by Thomas Snyder (Thu-Sat).
I’m really hoping we’ll see more original puzzles throughout the rest of the year as well. One new puzzle in three weeks is not the most exciting thing in the world, especially if you’ve already done some of the puzzles like with the Grand Prix.
That said, I do appreciate that you’re keeping the Patreon stuff limited to original content. I know it’s not an easy thing to wrangle content for this site as well as take on a full-time job, so I’m glads the weekly model is giving you guys some flexibility with that.
Thanks for being understanding; I am trying to be mindful of patron expectations with the rewards as you would have seen in my message. Writing over two dozen puzzles for the Grand Prix in April plus getting promoted at work have put me behind on other puzzle projects but once I escape USPC season we should be back to 3/4 weeks each month with new content.
For what it’s worth, I’ve been solving the GP puzzles on a casual basis, and I’ve been enjoying them. Grant’s contributions look interesting as a variant, though I have yet to finish the harder two. The casual section is a nice experiment too, although I had to look at the solution for the fold-in grid. I found one step in a logical approach, but I wasn’t really sure how to find the others.
