Author/Opus: This is the 1st puzzle from guest contributor Chris Green.
Rules: Variation of LITS. Some cells or groups of cells are outlined and labeled with a letter. If any of these cells is shaded, then the tetromino shape must match the clued letter.
Answer String: Enter the length in cells of each of the shaded segments from left to right for the marked rows, starting at the top. Separate each row’s entry from the next with a comma.
Time Standards (highlight to view): Grandmaster = 2:00, Master = 3:00, Expert = 6:00

Took me forever to spot the break-in but then went very smooth. Nice visual theme, i look forward to more of this type. The example puzzle was fun,too 🙂

It is with great embarrassment that I admit that I cannot solve this one. No idea what I am missing. Skynet’s hint sends me, in a few short steps, to a state where the six leftmost regions are isolated from the rest of the board. Is there really a legal LITS solution to this puzzle?
The puzzle is a “connectivity chase” from the lower-left corner. My guess is you are overlooking an option along the correct path. But it is a sneaky puzzle so no need to be embarrassed.
Here are the first 5 steps on my solving path:
