Author/Opus: This is the 36th puzzle from our contributing puzzlemaster Palmer Mebane.

Rules: Standard Fillomino rules. Also, the shapes shown below the grid must appear as polyominoes in the grid. Shapes may be rotated, but may not be reflected.

Answer String: For each cell in the marked rows/columns, enter the area of the polyomino it belongs to. Enter just the last digit for any two-digit number. Start with the 1st row, followed by a comma, followed by the 9th row.

Time Standards (highlight to view): Grandmaster = 5:15, Master = 6:45, Expert = 13:30

    34:29.Ran into serious troubles after placing the 7 that was intended to be positioned first in the wrong spot.Once I determined the correct place of the first 7 the rest fell into place more or less quickly.Great puzzle.

    16:06 This shape-constrained Fillomino was a ton of fun. Finding room to rough-fit all of the 7s to start made for a fun opening.

    Impressive construction here. My original assumptions about the positions of the 7s were all wrong as I quickly reached contradictions. I think I still used intuition a lot though there; I’m not quite sure how to prove uniqueness.
