I think the top-heavy rule has good potential, I was starting to see interesting logic in the columns, especially when one blank remains to be found.
But perhaps there needs to be a horizontal connection also, as currently the columns can be reshuffled in any order to give the ‘same’ puzzle.
Could the top-heavy rule apply both horizontally and vertically?
I believe if we apply this rule for both, making this kind of puzzle would be hard. I prepared several of them which are based on just vertical rule, and even if I got one direction it was hard to get the puzzle. So I guess your suggestion will make it harder to prepare it. However we should try, and we should see what we’ll get.
