Nice puzzle.
Interesting how the 3×3 regions are crucial to breaking into the puzzle but I didn’t solve the lower right one until nearly the end.

I’m kinda losing my mind on this one. I solved it, or so I thought. My answer string is incorrect. I’ve re-entered it multiple times. I’ve scrutinized my solution with a fine-toothed comb. It definitely satisfies all of the rules of star battle. I printed the puzzle out again, and solved it very carefully a second time. I get the same solution. I must be screwing up the answer key somehow.

The format of the string is not what you think it is (and we tend to have problems when puzzles get large because of different expectations). For the last half year or so we’ve changed all our submissions to “enter the last digit of any two-digit number”. You’ll find if you drop some of your 1’s you will get the answer accepted. The string here starts 372827….
I’ll never forget to look at the top right corner again…
