Author/Opus: This is the 25th puzzle from our contributing puzzlemaster Prasanna Seshadri.
Rules: Standard Nurikabe rules.
Answer String: Enter the length in cells of each of the black segments (the unnumbered, connected “ocean”) from left to right for the marked rows, starting at the top. Separate each row’s entry from the next with a comma.
Time Standards (highlight to view): Grandmaster = 0:45, Master = 1:15, Expert = 2:30

This would be a good nurikabe to show to a solver that is new to the type (or new to logic puzzles in general); it can be solved with logic that is relatively easy to explain, while still having enough variety to the solve to be interesting and entertaining.
This is not to say I don’t like the more difficult puzzles – I am more than happy to sink my teeth into something more challenging – but we shouldn’t forget that good puzzles that are approachable by the general public are important too!
