I must be missing something, because I don’t see how the solution is unique. Can you switch the “2” between R10C2 and R9C3, or between R8C9 and R8C10 and still have a solution?
Perhaps, but R10C2 and R8C9 are given clues, and as such they cannot be switched/moved/changed into blank cells. The two 2s you mentioned, like all the other numbers given in the puzzle, are meant as stationary “clues” that dictate the solve, and will always be definite parts of the solution.
Those squares are both givens. They’re not available to switch.
Ah that makes a ton more sense. I solve Nanro via shading cells in Paint, which gives me the (incorrect) option to not shade in the clued cells. Thanks!
