Happy birthday! ~9:30, unfortunately, I stumbled a little at the end/
Haven’t started this birthday puzzle yet but I sure hope that it is not as hard as the one posted last May 26. I still haven’t solved it yet after many false starts… 😉 -Loren
It is a different kind of hard. Grant’s birthday puzzle has an Aha difficulty because you don’t know what you need to do. This has clear instructions, but can still be challenging to complete.
Sorry for whining (and I would fully agree the only linking of the puzzles is that they were both made to self-celebrate a birthday; but that doesn’t mean that my mind didn’t link them nonetheless). Grant’s puzzle is still my white whale. Did this one in under 30 minutes with distractions. -Loren
Have you at least solved the Star Battle portion of my 26th birthday Sunday Surprise? It’s really not supposed to be as difficult as the larger-than-usual 12×12 size might lead you to expect. If you need help discerning the later steps, e-mail me at glmathgrant@gmail.com. 🙂
Thanks for the offer, Grant. I finally solved it tonight. I will fully admit that I noticed your Feb 18th posting when I went to reprint the puzzle tonight. That finally unlocked it for me (since I had already had the Star Battle solution at hand). Somehow, I had last been trying to solve as LITS (which seems like a dead end). -Loren
08:46. That Grandmaster time must be Palmer’s.
Great puzzle, and happy birthday to Prasanna!
