Interesting Fillomino with some packing elements to drive the solve. The bottom right was a nice bit, even if I didn’t rigorously prove it logically.

04:27. HOW ON EARTH IS THE MASTER TIME 02:45 ARGH

I think my fault is to begin adding all clues too soon (after only completing the 7 at top left, because I can’t find anything else; it takes about 2-3 minutes to realize that the 4 at top left is stuck). However, this provides the rigorous proof of the bottom-right as the result 😀

Fantastic puzzle. Large polyominoes that have tight places to wiggle through drives the solve. I think the aesthetic theme is much, much less striking than the logic 😛 But still, pulling it off with an additional aesthetic theme is great.

Since I seem to like answering rhetorical questions:

“HOW ON EARTH IS THE MASTER TIME 02:45” — we had 6 testers with times ranging from 2:00 to 3:40, with three sitting right within 5-10 seconds of 2:45. This was actually one of the easiest time standards to set as none of our solvers had an “off” solve so the spread was small.

  • Love that bottom-right corner! I think you can show that it’s forced without having to do the addition; you can get the first few spaces of a bunch of polyominoes, enough to run out of room in that corner unless it goes the way it has to go.
